Fairfax Deputy Sheriffs Coalition
Pipes and Drums

The Fairfax Deputy Sheriffs Coalition Pipes and Drums (Pipes and Drums) are a non-profit, tax exempt [501(c) (3)] organization dedicated to quality performance of Scottish bagpipe and drums music. The Pipes and Drums represent the Fairfax County Deputy Sheriffs Coalition, the Office of the Sheriff, as well as other public safety officers and county employees in Fairfax County, Virginia.

The Pipes and Drums are a member of the Eastern United States Pipe Band Association (EUSPBA) whose focus is on the Great Highland Bagpipes, the Scottish snare drum, the tenor drum and the bass drum. As a member of EUSPBA, the Pipes and Drums will play at the competitive level in EUSPBA sanctioned contests in order to improve and refine its level of play.

The band’s high level of play reflects the professionalism and dedication to duty of the Fairfax deputy sheriffs.

The Pipes and Drums perform at official functions as well as in public venues and in so doing will promote the position of deputy sheriff in Fairfax County. The Pipes and Drums’ musical activities will also educate the public on traditional Scottish music and customs.

The Pipes and Drums will take a leadership role in cooperative ventures and resource sharing with other police pipe bands in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
